BII Scotland Licensing discussion forums – not to be missed!

03-May-2006

BII Scotland, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, is launching a series of essential information sessions to help all those involved in the licensed trade through licensing reform.

The sessions will cover topics related to, amongst others, licensing legislation, training and planning. The first is due to take place for licensees in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire on 22 May 2006 at 5pm – 7pm in the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen. Invitations will be sent to licensees in this area from Tuesday 2 May or tickets can be booked directly. The cost of the session is £15 per head.

This session will be run by BII Scotland together with Tony Dawson, expert licensing lawyer from James and George Collie Solicitors, 1 East Craibstone Street, Aberdeen.

Janet Hood, Head of BII Scotland, said, “BII Scotland is committed to supporting licensees before, during and after the major reforms to be implemented over the next few years as a result of the Licensing Act (Scotland) 2005 and other legislative changes. The planned series of information sessions will enable us to target large numbers of licensees in specific geographical areas with the information, knowledge and skills they need to tackle the new licensing regime.”
