Five new BII Companion Members announced

BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, has today made five long standing members Companions of the Institute at its sell out 25th anniversary annual luncheon, sponsored by Sky. The luncheon followed the organisation’s AGM and was attended by over a thousand of the industry’s most influential players.
Companion Membership (CMBII) is the highest accolade for BII members who have made an outstanding contribution to BII and to the industry as a whole.
Dedicated BII members Peter Furness-Smith, Michael Kennedy, Phillip Howells and John Melia have been rewarded with Companion Membership for their outstanding commitment to BII.
Jeremy Allen, Licensing Lawyer and Partner from Poppleston Allen; George Young from training company Young & Smith and Conrad Lashley, Head of the Centre for Leisure Retailing at Nottingham Trent University and Chairman of BII NITA judging panel, were also awarded the Honorary CMBIIs.
The awards were presented on 9 May 2006 at the BII Annual Luncheon, sponsored by Sky, at London’s Grosvenor House.
