Find out how to make more of your training business at the BIIAB National Conference on 10 October 2006

23-Aug-2006

BIIAB, the wholly owned awarding body of BII, will be holding its first conference aimed at existing and potential training providers on 10 October 2006 at the Centennial Centre in Birmingham.

The conference will feature a wide range of experts in the training and qualifications arena including Sue Georgious, Head of Framework Development and Skills, Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, Philip Raynsford, Policy and Strategic Programmes Director, People 1st and of course BIIAB staff.

Cathie Smith, Director of BIIAB, said, “The vocational qualifications world is undergoing huge changes at the moment and we have organised this ground breaking conference to keep our centres informed. We have invited a variety of speakers that the delegates may not otherwise have the opportunity to hear from.

She added, “It will be an important forum to enable our network of approved centres to hear from us, first hand, about what’s happening in the world of qualifications for licensed retail and what activities the BIIAB is undertaking in support of the changes.

Ms Smith concluded, “I would urge anyone working in the vocational sector to attend this conference to understand the impact current changes will have on your business and the work you are doing with BIIAB and other awarding bodies. It will also be a chance to learn more about BIIAB and the opportunities for centres in the new environment.”

The conference programme will feature a range of informative speakers, who will be addressing topics including:

Revision of the National Qualifications Framework, Sue Georgious, Head of Framework Development and Skills, Qualifications and Curriculum Authority

- The Security Skills Agenda, Linda Sharpe, Interim CEO, Skills for Security
