BII NITA finalists announced

31-Aug-2006

Finalists for the BII NITAs have been announced. The nationally recognised BII NITAs are the most prestigious prize for training in the licensed retail sector and the awards celebrate companies or organisations commitment to good training.

The BII NITAs are run through BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector. The awards aim to encourage and reward those who provide a high standard of training, who are in turn driving the licensed trade towards professionalism.

John McNamara CMBII, Chief Executive of BII explained his feelings on the subject of good training. “Sound training has been an important message of BII’s since their inception; the organisation has highlighted it key to combating irresponsible licensed retailing and an integral factor  in promoting positive night time economies in town centres.”

Prof Conrad Lashley CMBII, chairman of the NITA judging panel, said: “This year we have been overwhelmed with the response. The quality of the applications has been very high indeed, and those who have got through to the finals should feel very pleased with themselves, there really was some tough competition this year.”

The winners will be announced at a prominent and celebrated ceremony at the Tower of London on 7 December 2006 before of an audience of influential trade leaders, politicians, and other high profile guests.
