Licensees will benefit from 36-hour opening this New Year

Licensees will again benefit from 36-hour openings on New Year's Eve, with hours over Christmas being set by Magistrates across the Country.
The Special Occasions Licensing Order of 2002 -extending permitted hours from normal closing time on New Year's Eve through to normal opening times on New Year's Day - applies to this festive season.
Licensees in some areas have been given blanket terminal hours across the Christmas period, while others are making individual applications for extensions, normally until midnight.
If members have any queries on their permitted hours over the Christmas or New Year period, we reccommend you contact your local licensing Magistrate for details.
