Industry awaits Government guidelines on Licensing Act

12-Jan-2004

The BII and licensed retail industry is still awaiting publication of the national guidelines from the Government on the Licensing Act 2003.  These guidelines  will form the basis of the second edition of the BII's extremely popular How to make the most of the Licensing Act - A guide for Licensees.

The Institute is again hoping to work with other major bodies in the industry and local authorities to produce the second booklet taking these new guidelines into consideration.

Erica Snedker, Communications Executive at the BII said: "We understand that our members are very anxious to receive the most up to date information on how the new Licensing Act will affect their business.  While we are still waiting on national guidelines from the Government, we will be keeping our members informed via our magazine, biiBUSINESS and at regional events across the country, as well as on our website.

The second edition of our guide will prove an invaluable source of reference for all licensees and with over 25, 000 copies of the first booklet distributed, we are expecting the second to be equally popular".

The guide will, as before, be distributed to all members within their biiBUSINESS mailing when it is published and will be on sale for non-members and other interested parties.

If you are a non-member interested in obtaining the second copy of the guide, the BII is operating a reservation list.  You can place your order in advance by e-mailing the BII's Communications team with your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and details of how many you wish to order.  When the booklet is available, we will be in touch to organise payment and distribution.

Please note there is small fee per booklet (yet to be established) and payment will differ depending on numbers ordered.
