BII to introduce provisional membership to all successful BIIAB NCPLH/SLC candidates

12-Feb-2007

BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, will be introducing a new provisional membership to all candidates who pass the BIIAB National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders and Scottish Licensee’s Certificate (SLC) from 5 March 2007.

Successful candidates, who take the BIIAB NCPLH and SLC from this date, will automatically qualify for a six month provisional membership, which will provide them with an email newsletter on a regular basis keeping them up to date with current issues and also inform them of the benefits of full membership.

Steve Howe, Director of Membership, said, “At BII we feel that new people to the industry need all the support they can get when they are starting out in their new roles. The NCPLH/SLC ensures that they have the knowledge they need to sell alcohol responsibly but it doesn’t stop there. By becoming a provisional BII member, licence holders can be kept up to date on all the industry issues and they can also see all the benefits of becoming a full BII member.

He added, “We realise that many people who have taken the NCPLH/SLC do not go straight into their new roles and if they do they are bombarded with information. This provisional membership will offer them the level of support they need in the early stages and when they are ready they can become full BII members and enjoy all the benefits from BIIBUSINESS magazine, the free helplines to savings and professional status.”
