Don’t let the smoking ban cause conflict in your venue

Licensees are being urged to undertake a conflict management qualification to help them deal with potentially difficult customers after the introduction of the smoking ban in
BIIAB, the leading awarding body for the licensed retail sector, offer the Award in Conflict Management (ACM) through its approved centres across the country. The BIIAB ACM helps staff to avoid and manage conflict within their licensed premises.
This award has been designed in conjunction with conflict management specialists in the licensed retail sector. Incidents of violence can range from the relatively minor problems of people causing nuisance in a premises, for example through unacceptable levels of swearing, to serious incidents involving physical abuse and damage to property.
