 Steve Howe from BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, will be presenting at the Licensing Law and Practice Conference on the issue of Responsible Alcohol Retailing with Lisa-Marie Smith, Deputy Force Solicitor with the West Midlands Police.

 

The conference will consider how the Licensing Act 2003 has actually worked in practice. It will look at what anomalies have arisen to date and whether it has reached its 4 objectives (prevention of crime & disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance, protection of children from harm).

Delegates will have the opportunity to address their queries and concerns to a panel of top industry and legal speakers. Representatives from Local Authorities, the courts and the police will be present to discuss how they are working together to ensure that this significant legislative reform is effectively enforced.
