Christmas Activity Camp for Children of those Working in the Trade

08-Oct-2007

Is your child a sports superstar?  Are they fanatical about football or go bonkers about basketball?  No?  OK, how about an aspiring artist looking to express their creativity and become a future Turner Prize winner or a future filmmaker maybe?  Either way the Christmas Activity Camp at the Licensed Victuallers’ School (LVS) in Ascot will have an activity to suit most children’s hobbies and interests.

With Christmas being a very busy time, particularly for licensees, the Activity Camp is designed for the children of busy working Mums and Dads.  The Christmas Activity Camp will run from Wednesday 19th December to midday on Saturday 22nd December for children of aged between of 7-13.

The Christmas Activity Camp includes a fun, jam-packed programme of activity including five-a-side football and swimming, designing and making home-made Christmas decorations presents in the Art attack sessions, and even creating their very own plays or drama sketches in the Performing Arts Centre which incorporates a theatre with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

And if all the activity isn’t enough to keep the kids occupied, a Christmas Party will mark the end of the camp on the final night where they can celebrate Christmas with their new found friends.

The LV School is owned by the Licensed Trade Charity, and as such they are offering a 50% discount on the package rate to those working in the licensed trade including bar staff, licensees, and those working for a brewery or drinks supplier.  The camp costs just £99 which includes meals, all of the activities taking place during the four days and boarding facilities at the school.

In order to qualify for the discount, one of parents’ main job needs to be in the licensed trade.

Liz Gaffer, Director of Marketing & Charity Services said; “We’re holding the Christmas Cracker Activity Camp for many reasons, but the most important is to demonstrate to the trade that we offer support in a variety of ways.  This is a very exciting step for us.  We know that the lead up to Christmas is a busy time for licensees so we wanted to offer a solution to keeping their children occupied whilst they are working over the festive period.

“We’ve designed the Camp to make sure that the children have an incredible time whilst they stay here.  It’s the perfect opportunity for kids to make new friends and make the most of the facilities available at the school which really are second to none.  We are really looking forward to hosting what we’re sure will be a fabulous four days!”
