New national project administrator for Best Bar None

Best Bar None (BBN), the national awards scheme for licensed premises, has appointed its first national Project Administrator who will be working closely with the Best Bar None board and member schemes to take the initiative through to the next stage of growth.
Sarah Walker has a strong background in the licensed retail sector having worked for BII for over nine years in the membership department. Her key roles were the day to day administration, including providing timely information and support, for the Membership Development Consultants, who are field based, as well as other tasks supporting the membership team at the BII headquarters.
In her role with Best Bar None, Sarah will be providing support to BBN schemes and coordinators across the country including advice to new BBN schemes and sharing of best practice. She will also be involved in researching and analysing the beneficial impact of Best Bar None across the UK and participating in the development and delivery of future plans for the scheme on a national level.
Sarah said, “I really enjoyed my work with the membership department at BII and over the years I have built up a high level of knowledge about the licensed retail sector. I hope that the knowledge and skills I have gained since 1998 will hold me in good stead for this new and challenging role with Best Bar None.
She added, “I am looking forward to getting out and about meeting the people involved in the schemes and getting a first hand look at Best Bar None. Best Bar None is an exciting initiative and with nearly 90 schemes and the Board already well in its stride, it should grow from strength to strength and I am looking forward to being part of that.”
Lord Redesdale, Best Bar None Chairman, said, “I am delighted to have Sarah on board. It was very important to the Board that we had the right person in this position and I feel that Sarah, with her background in the industry, should slot straight into the role. She is already looking after the new national Best Bar None website and has started to build relationships with the existing schemes.”
