BII's annual Luncheon is a sell out

BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, is holding its annual luncheon and AGM on 10th May 2005 at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.

The annual luncheon, sponsored by SKY, is a real highlight in the licensed retail social calendar. This year's principal guest of honour is Councillor Sir Sandy Bruce-Lockhart, Chairman of the Local Government Association (LGA). Sir Sandy is also Chairman of the Kent Thameside Delivery Board; a trustee of the Centre for Social Justice; and a school governor. He has written widely about public services and social issues.

Sir Sandy will address over 1000 BII members and guests on the LGA’s views regarding the new licensing laws and their implementation, as well as explaining how the licensed trade can work together in partnership with the Local Authorities to achieve common aims.

Brigitte Rushmore ABII BII, Acting Marketing Director said: "Our annual luncheon is the cornerstone of our events calendar and enables us to entertain guests and members from all over the country. We are delighted to welcome Cllr Sir Bruce-Lockhart as our key note speaker this year, he follows a string of high profile guests who have addressed our delegates in the past.

Previous speakers have included Digby Jones, Director General of the CBI; John Grogan MP; HRH The Princess Royal; Mike O’Brien MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Home Office and Sir Alistair Grant, Chairman of Scottish & Newcastle plc".
