Burgers, Best Practice And Business Advice At Stafford Event

28-May-2008

A masterclass with former UK barbecue champion Ben Bartlett ABII, an audience with the 2008 Licensee of the Year Chris Lewis FBII and a presentation by David Hawbrook, managing director of award-winning ABV Training. This line-up of the great and the good forms the itinerary for the next event being run by the West Midlands region of BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, on Tuesday 17th June at The Swan in Stafford.

The event is the BII West Midlands Summer Barbecue and attendance is welcomed by owners and managers of pubs, clubs, bars and hotels throughout the area as this will be the perfect opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business.

Ben will be displaying his prowess “on the coals” and proving just why he’s represented the UK at the world BBQ championships in the USA. He’ll also be advising licensees to maximise summer turnovers by catering for al fresco dining. Meanwhile, host Chris Lewis will give a tour of his amazing premises and talk about diversifying licensed businesses to make them ‘recession proof’.

David Hawbrook will update attendees on the suite of BIIAB catering qualifications and discuss the many benefits of investing in staff training.

BII has over 41,000 full and provisional members throughout the UK and each of its 16 regions organises regular events to ensure licensed retailers remain up-to-date with industry developments. West Midlands Region chairman Philip Maile FBII welcomes members and non-members to benefit from the tips and advice on offer and to make the most of the opportunity to network with other licensees and industry professionals.

The event on 17th June will run from 3pm to 6pm. Tickets cost just £10 and are available from The Swan on 01785 258142.
