BII Supports Institute of Licensing Conference – ‘Promoting The Night Time Economy’

02-Jul-2008

BII is supporting ‘Promoting The Night Time Economy’ – a one day conference being organised by the Institute of Licensing. The event is aimed at professionals involved in the management of the night time economy and takes place at City University, London EC1V, on Tuesday 8th July 2008.

Chaired by leading licensing barrister Philip Kolvin, editor of Licensed Premises: Law and Practice, the conference brings together a panel of experts from the UK’s major cities to give advice on ways of successfully managing the night time economy and discuss current issues. The keynote speech will be given by Brigid Simmonds of Business in Sport & Leisure. Other presenters include Jon Collins of NOCTIS, Alistair Turnham from Make Associates, Simon Quinn of ATCM, John McNamara CMBII of Best Bar None, and Cathie Smith from BIIAB.

The night time economy contributes one billion pounds to the British economy each year. With over 100 town planners, town centre managers, licensing practitioners, community safety officers, environmental health officers, trading standards officers, local pubwatch committee members, councillors and police already attending, this event serves as a timely opportunity to explore best practice in managing the night time economy.

The conference starts with registration at 9.30am and closes at 4.30pm. The cost to attend is £100 + VAT. For more information visit www.instituteoflicensing.org or call Sue Towler on 01726 75456.
