New Qualifications Manager joins the BII
Teresa Jacobs has joined the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) as Qualifications Manager and will be working in the qualifications development team.
Cathie Smith, Director of Qualifications said: “Teresa brings with her vast experience in the development and implementation of adult qualifications, and will be having very much a proactive approach in her role. She is a valuable addition to our department and we are delighted to welcome her to the BII.”
Teresa previously worked at Edexcel, one of the three largest awarding bodies in the country, where she managed the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) examinations. She was responsible for the whole process of qualification development, from the initial conception to standardisation, awarding and certification, as well as contributing to international marketing and customer service. Previous to this, Teresa was involved in the management of adult education, having been a teacher in the UK and overseas, for a number of years. To add to her portfolio experience, Teresa also has a masters degree and a management diploma and is currently studying for her MBA (Masters in Business Administration).
Teresa is married with three children and lives in London. Her hobbies include travelling and drawing. ends]
