BII answers “The Scottish Question”

The British Institute of Innkeeping’s (BII) Scottish Region is to host a licensing debate at Hampden Park Stadium, Glasgow on Monday; November 26, 2001. The event will encompass a number of important issues that are currently affecting the Scottish licensed retail sector.

Gordon Millar, chief executive and secretary of the British Beer and Pub Association Scotland (formally the BLRAS), will be taking the stage to explain and discuss with the delegates the implementations of the Smoking in Public Places Voluntary Charter which is at a crucial stage.

Stephen Gould, director of recruitment and training at the Punch Pub Company will then be evaluating the necessity of “happy hours” and discounting drinks. He will host the debate on business strategies and highlight the alternatives for licensees.

Following a buffet and an after lunch speaker, there will be the opportunity for guests to take a guided tour of the venue – Hampden Park Stadium and the Scottish Museum of Football.
