Is your licensee the best in the UK?

31-Aug-2005

Is your licensee the best in the UK? There are thousands of licensees out there running so many different pubs and bars but have you ever thought of what your licensee does to make their place so special? Now is your chance to show your appreciation by nominating them for BII Licensee of the Year 2006!

The BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, this week launched the BII Licensee of the Year Award (LOYA) 2006. The award is the ultimate accolade for any licensee, whatever kind of pub or bar they run.

Brigitte Rushmore, BII Director of Marketing, said, “There are so many types of pubs and bars around these days and many of today’s licensees work very hard to make their pubs and bars special for their customers. The BII Licensee of the Year competition has been running for thirteen years and every year we find an exceptional winning licensee. Maybe this year it could be your licensee, no matter what kind of establishment they run.”

Licensees can also nominate themselves for the award. The competition aims to find the individual or couple who runs the best pub or bar in the country and puts their all into running their business.  Great customer service, high standards and all round professionalism are just a few of the attributes that are needed to be crowned BII Licensee of the Year 2006.

The winner will be announced at the Publican Awards ceremony held 21 March 2006 at the Grosvenor House.

The deadline for entries is the 7th October 2005. To make sure your nominated licensee receives an entry form contact Rachael Julnes, Marketing Co-ordinator, on 01276 417802 or email rachael@bii.org or click here.

Notes to editors

The award which is now in its thirteenth year, is run by the BII and is sponsored by leading drinks manufacturer and wholesaler Matthew Clark. The winner, in addition to gaining the prestigious title of BII Licensee of the Year, will also receive a trophy and a cheque for £1,000. The award open to all UK licensees and entrants do not have to be members of the BII. The judges are looking for the quality of the licensees not at the premises or the resources available.
