The Performing Right Society joins the British Institute of Innkeeping
07-May-2003
The PRS (The Performing Right Society) has joined The British Institute of Innkeeping’s (BII) Corporate Membership scheme. This partnership provides an ideal way for organisations to support the BII in return for a number of corporate benefits.
As Corporate members, PRS will be committed to reinforcing the BII’s vision for professionalism in licensed retailing. As part of their corporate membership, PRS will have two personal invitations to the BII’s Annual Luncheon, a full insert run for one issue of biiBUSINESS, the BII’s member magazine and use of the corporate member logo on their literature. PRS will also have an entry on the BII’s corporate website www.bii.org.
Paul Rollins, Senior Marketing Manager at PRS said: "We are delighted to become Corporate Members of the BII. We fully endorse the work they do to enhance standards and professionalism in our industry and look forward to working together to benefit our mutual customers."
Notes to Editors
The BII is the professional body for the licensed trade. It has around 15,500 members and last year BIIAB processed over 80,000 qualifications. Its mission is to promote high standards of professionalism throughout the licensed retail sector; to encourage new entrants into the industry, and to help them develop their long term careers. To provide all our members with high quality information, skills and qualifications to help them succeed in their business activities.
Note on The Performing Right Society (PRS)
PRS is the UK society that administers the performing right in the musical works of composers, songwriters and music publishers. It currently has around 38,000 members and, during 2001, collected licence income for them – from UK public performance and broadcasting, and from international usage – totalling over £255 million.
When music is played in public the owner of the copyright is entitled to payment from the music user. PRS collects and distributes this money (known as ‘royalties’) to its members and to affiliated societies overseas.
A PRS licence offers you millions of titles of all styles giving you the music that is right for your business. PRS can also give you sound advice on how best to use it to make it work.
To apply for a licence call PRS FREE on 0800 068 48 28.
