BII provides step-by-step guide to national licensing reform
01-May-2003
The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) will be hosting a one day conference at Warwick University on September 1, 2003, to advise all those in licensed retailing on the exact steps needed to take to comply with the new Licensing Regime, which will be in operation by 2004.
A variety of experts will be on hand to speak and discuss with delegates the full implications of the reform - including, among others, Jeremy Allen ABII, specialist licensing solicitor, and chief executive of the BII, John McNamara.
Securing a new premises and personal licence is one of the major stages that licensees need to complete at the earliest opportunity, and clear guidelines for these will be presented in detail in workshops. Delegates will also be given ample opportunity to question the speakers on how licensing reform will apply their business and will be able to discuss all aspects of the transition process.
John McNamara, said: "The new Licensing Bill makes major changes to the way in which our industry will operate in the future. I’d recommend any licensee to attend this conference, as at the end of the day, they will be able to walk away armed with all the information they need to ease the transition process."
The BII conference will provide licensees with the key changes to the law and will be a must-attend event for all BII members, non-members, licensees/managers and others working within the licensed retail sector. To reserve your place, contact Gillian Hedditch in the BII’s events team on 01276 417846.
