Recognition for long standing BII members

The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) has made seven of its long-standing members, Companions of the Institute.
Companion Membership (CMBII) is the highest form of appreciation and recognition for members who have made an outstanding contribution to the BII and the industry as a whole.
Those honoured were: Ludovick Halik CMBII, Rita Harper CMBII, Anita Law CMBII, Ian Meiklejohn CMBII, Martin O’Grady CMBII, Richard Slide CMBII and Caroline Wiscombe CMBII. All of those nominated have been active council members for their regions and for the Institute for many years, and have shown professionalism and dedication throughout their career.
The seven new companion members were announced at the BII’s recent Annual Luncheon, held at London’s Le Meridien Grosvenor House on May 14. A formal ceremony for those given Companion Membership will take place at the Institute’s AGM on June 30 at Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.

The BII is the professional body for the licensed trade. It has around 15,500 members and last year BIIAB processed over 80,000 qualifications. Its mission is to promote high standards of professionalism throughout the licensed retail sector; to encourage new entrants into the industry, and to help them develop their long-term careers.
