New Director of Membership for the BII

Steve Howe, the former Director of Training and Awards for the Hospitality Awarding Body, has joined the BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, as the new Director of Membership.
Steve joins us with a wealth of experience in a variety of senior management positions and has a strong background in recruitment, training, and qualifications in the hospitality industry.
John McNamara, BII Chief Executive, said, “We are delighted to have Steve Howe on board. We took the selection for the post very seriously. We had a very good response to our advertisement, and Steve came through a strong list of applicants and a rigorous recruitment process for this key role. The BII has over 17,400 members, and one of our key objectives is to drive up membership levels and continue our impressive growth record. Steve will be instrumental in leading our Membership team to achieve this.
He added, “We are very lucky that Brian Maughan, our current Director of Membership and Special Projects will be remaining with the BII, on a part-time basis, as Director of Special Projects. Brian has been with the BII for 16 years and will continue to use his wealth of knowledge in the organisation.”
Steve Howe said, “I am thrilled to be joining the BII in this key and challenging role. The BII has a strong and successful tradition as a professional body and I am looking forward to working with the senior and membership teams to maintain the momentum of driving significant growth in membership levels.”
