BII reaches its quarter century
27-Jan-2006
BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. This is a huge achievement and a great opportunity to reinforce the role the organisation plays in helping members to business success and raising standards in the licensed industry through support and nationally recognised qualifications.
The organisation will be holding themed regional events, producing a commemorative brochure with the Morning Advertiser to mark the occasion and the corporate logo has been adapted to ensure that the year doesn’t go unnoticed. The highlight of the year will be the BII Annual Luncheon held at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on 9 May 2006. Closing date for booking places at the event is 24 March 2006.
John McNamara, BII Chief Executive, said, “The BII has been working very hard for the last 25 years to increase the professionalism of the licensed trade and to raise the important issue of social responsibility. We have over 17,500 members who all stand for the same thing – responsible alcohol retailing and that has never been more important than now.
He added, “There have been many changes in the licensed retail sector over the last 25 years and there are many more to come in the future. We aim to give our members the support and skills to tackle them in the best way possible.
Mr McNamara concluded, “It is not all work and no play, our annual luncheon in May is set to be a huge celebration for our members and a big thank you for all the hard work they have put in over the years and an opportunity to raise a glass to the next 25 years!”
