Summary
VQ Day is about celebrating vocational achievement and BIIAB supports this wholeheartedly. The day helps to profile the importance of vocational qualification (VQ) achievements, which are vital to support the growth of today’s economy.
BIIAB has awarded 1.5 million VQs since 1981. We work closely with industry bodies and all interested parties to ensure that the VQs offered are in demand and fit for purpose.
Cathie Smith, Director of BIIAB, commented: “Both BII and BIIAB, as the professional body and the leading VQ awarding body for the licensed retail sector respectively, are delighted to support VQ Day, in celebration of the opportunities that recognition of short, sharp, industry-focused qualifications will bring to learners in our industry.
The variety of skills and knowledge needed within the vast array of roles in the hospitality sector simply cannot be catered for without the flexibility and access to learning that vocational qualifications bring. VQ Day is an excellent move towards recognising the worth and contribution that vocational learning and qualifications bring to licensed retail and the economy as a whole.”
