New BII Companion Members Announced At 2010 AGM

BII is proud to announce its newest companion members

BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, is delighted to announce it has appointed some of its long-standing members Companion Members at its annual lunch, which took place at London’s Grosvenor House on Tuesday 11th May. The lunch followed the organisation’s AGM and was attended by around a thousand of the industry’s most influential players.

 

Companion Membership (CBII) is the highest accolade for BII members who have made an outstanding contribution to BII and to the industry as a whole.

 

This year’s CBIIs are:

·Simon Le Cornu-Brown, chairman of BII Channel Islands. Simon has been chairman of the Channel Islands region for almost 3 years now and is acknowledged for his active role in his region throughout this time.

·Franca Knowles, Human Resources Director of Interpub plc and founder of the Footsteps Training Programme. Franca is a fantastic supporter of BII and was recently awarded an MBE for her services to training in the industry.

·Jonathan Warhurst, operations manager at Brookes Restaurant located at Oxford Brookes University. Jonathan has been treasurer for BII Thames Valley region for almost 7 years and has been a regional council member for more than 10 years. He is being recognised for his continued support of BII, in particular the Thames Valley region and his outstanding contribution to training in the licensed retail sector.

·Nigel Williams has been on the BII Yorkshire council for over 10 years and is also the chairman of Sheffield Pubwatch. Nigel and has been an exemplary member of BII since 1986 and is being credited for his outstanding example of professionalism in our industry.

·Philippe Giorgetti, BII Wessex council member. Philippe is being recognised for his dedication and encouragement of high standards of licensed retail in the Wessex Region.

·Alan Moore of Pegwell Bay Hotel and chairman of BII South East region is being recognised for the active role he has played in his region throughout his 3 years as chairman.

·Sam Moyse has been on the BII South West council for 8 years, and has been a great supporter of BII and in particular the South West region. Sam has recently worked with Train to Gain securing £300,000 worth of training courses for our members.
