2012 BII Licensee Of The Year Award Finalists Announced
The finalists of the prestigious 2012 BII Licensee of the Year Award have been announced today. Over the past weeks, 21 semi-finalists have been visited by judges John Vereker CBII and John Sharratt CBII who, after much deliberation, have eliminated fifteen to leave just six finalists still standing.
Peter Thomas, CEO of BII comments “The standard of entries in 2012 was extremely high, an impressive level of professional excellence was demonstrated by all. It’s a testament to an industry that’s raising its game and adapting to meet the challenges presented by the modern licensed retail business. Finalists are our shining stars, ambassadors of best practice perfection and all at BII are proud to work with them.”
The finalists now have time for a short breather, a chance to regain their nerve, before being called to London for a challenging series of panel interviews in April. This is the toughest part of the competition, the pressure is on and only one can win through and take the crown.
The finalists are:
- Tim Foster, The Wiremill, East Grinstead, Surrey
- Chris Kemp, The Cricketers, Hartley Wintney, Hampshire
- Mahdis Neghabian, The Camden Eye, London
- Jason Read & James Langford, The Plough Inn, Wrington, Somerset
- Victoria Steadman, The Whitmore Arms, Essex
- John Wyke, The Old Horns Inn, High Bradfield, Sheffield
The name of the 2012 BII Licensee of the Year will remain a closely guarded secret until it is announced before 1000 industry people at BII’s Annual Lunch on Tuesday 8 May 2012 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London. Tickets are still available, click here to book your tickets online
The 2012 BII Licensee of the Year is profiled extensively during the year in local, trade and national media, gaining near ‘celebrity’ status; a massive boost to them and their business.
