Earlier this month Trusted Partners & Helpline providers John Gaunt & Partners reported on the proposed Business and Planning Act 2020 (Pavement Licences) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 that would extend the temporary/streamlined pavement licence system created by the Business and Planning Act 2020 for a further 12 months until 30 September 2023.

The Regulations came into force Friday 22 July 2022 and therefore the pavement licence system has now been formally extended until 30 September 2023.

Current pavement licences will not be automatically extended so applications will still be required to extend them beyond September this year.
