In order to get your business back to its best as soon as possible, you will need staff with the right skills and knowledge to hit the ground running when you reopen. Not only will you need to recruit new staff with the right skills, but you may also need to upskill your existing staff.
You can do this by accessing apprenticeships, end-point assessments and qualifications through BIIAB Qualifications Limited (BIIAB), all of which are designed to help you ‘Build Back Better’.
You may be wondering how you can go about funding this? Well, as announced in the Spring Budget, there are now cash incentives for employers taking on an apprentice. Anyone hiring a new apprentice between 1 April 2021 and 30 September 2021 will now receive £3,000 per new recruit, regardless of the apprentice’s age. This funding is in addition to the £1,000 payment for apprentices aged 16 to 18, and those under 25, with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Apprenticeships remain an attractive option for business owners in hospitality for various reasons. They allow individuals to earn while they learn, meaning new staff members can work while continuing to develop their skills on the job. This will allow you to get new staff up to speed as quickly as possible.
In addition, apprenticeships are a great way for your existing staff to increase their skillset. Anyone can do an apprenticeship at any stage in life, and there are a huge variety of apprenticeships available.
BIIAB offers apprenticeships at different levels across various sectors including licensed hospitality, catering and retail. We also offer apprenticeships linked to business operations like management and team leading, and much more. Below is a list of just some of the relevant apprenticeships that could benefit your business:
• Level 2 Intermediate Team Leading
• Level 2 Intermediate Professional Cookery
• Level 2 Intermediate Pub Chef
• Level 3 Advanced Licensed Hospitality
• Level 3 Advanced Patisserie and Confectionery
• Level 3 Advanced Management
These, among many others, offer your business a variety of options to develop your staff, whatever their role.
BIIAB also delivers over 20 end-point assessments, many of which correspond to the apprenticeships listed above, allowing you to access the full package in one place. Our end-point assessments also undertake many separate pathways which could be beneficial to your business, and include:
• Level 2 Commis Chef
• Level 2 Hospitality Team Member
• Level 2 Production Chef
• Level 3 Chef de Partie
• Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor
• Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor
• Level 4 Hospitality Manager
All of BIIAB’s end-point assessments have been produced rigorously and to the highest quality by industry experts, who are able to support you, and your apprentice throughout the process.
If apprenticeships or end-point assessments are not right for you, and your business, we also offer an enormous catalogue of qualifications such as our range of Licensed to Practice qualifications like the Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders (APLH) and much more.
Whatever the training needs of your business, we can help you to build a fantastic team. To find out more about how we can support you, arrange to speak with our Relationship Management Team or call 01276 684449.
