Dear BII Member,
With the festive season in full swing, I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and thank you for being part of the BII in 2019.
It’s been a year full of uncertainty for many businesses, but my hope is that our industry will continue to grow and strengthen into 2020.
In the New Year, we want to focus even more on all of the good that pubs do in their communities – from the £100 million raised every single year for charity, to the sports clubs and teams that they provide kit and meeting places for.
Coming together as an industry to support our staff, customers and vulnerable people in our communities is what we do best and we will continue to partner with agencies such as Only a Pavement Away, the Licensed Trade Charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, Pub is the Hub and many more going forward.
Pubs are the key to bringing people together, whether it be as a meeting place for friends and family, a chance to have a chat with a friendly face behind the bar or just to feel less alone – especially at this time of year.
Those small moments of connection with another human being can really make the difference.
And YOU facilitate that, by continuing to provide a friendly face behind the bar, a hot meal, a pint and a place where everyone is welcome. We will continue to support you however we can, to make sure you have all the tools you need to keep your business thriving in 2020 and beyond!
Whether it be through our fantastic helplines, advising you on anything from HR and Licensing through to rent reviews and tax; or by helping put you and your pub on the map with our Licensee of the Year competition – the BII are here to give you that independent, trusted support.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year – and thank you for all that you do in your communities, all throughout the year.
