Norfolk pub raises over £2000 for charity with celebrity-judged bake off

Licensee of the Year Award finalists, Vikki & Gavin Hunt, hosted the event at their pub The Fox at Lyng.

This year’s winner Joy Kiddell will be recreating her winning entry on stage at the Holkham Christmas food fayre alongside Fox head chef Vic Rowling, Charlie Hodson and friends.

Hosted over a 12 week period, locals were invited to bake and judge the weekly rounds, which finished with a spectacular garden party with Live music from Differential & Lee Vann on finals day on June 15th.

This year’s judges for the finals day were two of the region’s most popular and respected chefs, Richard Bainbridge (winner of Great British menu 2015 and 2017 guest judge) and Charlie Hodson (Norfolk food hero, Executive chef winner of national #rolloff). They were also joined by the ex arsenal goalkeeper Alan Millar.

Proud licensee Vikki said:

"We were are all so thrilled with public support last year and the customers asked for us to hold bakeoff again this year so by demand we brought it back...All proceeds from ‘#communitybakeoff 2019 have been donated to Friends of Lyng primary school (FOLS) & Wensum Valley nursery school, both who operate in the village."
