Robinsons' Brewery Welcome Baby Shire Horse to the Family

Following the launch of a brand new Shire Breeding Programme, Robinsons' are delighted to announce their first foal has been born

Following Robinsons’ announcement on 1st April that they were launching their very own Shire Breeding Programme, the family are delighted to confirm that brewery brood mare, Horsemans Princess Giselle, has finally given birth.

The brewery’s first foal – Hillgate Henrietta-Anne, was born on Saturday 27th April at 11:17pm (not an April Fools!) – and both mother and foal are happy and healthy.

Hillgate Henrietta-Anne was born in a family owned field in Nether Alderley. It was a real family affair with three generations of the Robinsons family present at the birth.

Assisting Horsmans Princess Giselle’s delivery were Head Horsepersons Helen and Lisa, who, together with the family and local farm owner Jonathan Worthington, were on 24-hour foal watch on the day.

Helen Preece, Head Horseperson at Robinsons Brewery, explained:

She is a bay filly foal with four white legs and a blaze and she is absolutely perfect!

We now have our own registered prefix, ‘Hillgate’, with the Shire Horse Society; which all future foals will inherit. We are all so proud to be preserving and promoting the Shire horse breed – something Robinsons have been passionate about since the beginning of their business time"

Hillgate Henrietta-Anne will be seen visiting the brewery – based in the heart of Stockport for over 180 years – for special meet and greets in the coming months.
